Sustainable Office Toolkit (SOT) Track

The Partnership’s process for becoming more sustainable maps out approximately three years of environmental improvements for organizations in each of three progressive levels. Organizations join the program at the level that coincides with their current situation. A Partnership staff member will assist them with getting started.

After one level’s requirements are complete, the organization is evaluated and promoted to the next level based on its accomplishments. In order to keep track of advancements, the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia asks that participating organizations provide an annual report on their progress.

Organizations that prefer to advocate for the program rather than make performance commitments to the program may join at the Champion level, renewable annually.

There are two tracks within the Partnership program:

• The Sustainable Office Toolkit (SOT) Track is designed for small and medium-sized organizations that want to make their organizations better environmental stewards but don’t have the internal resources to develop a traditional EMS. Organizations in this track will use the Sustainability Division’s Sustainable Office Toolkit as a guide to addressing their environmental footprint.

• The Environmental Management System (EMS) Track is designed generally for larger organizations that are developing and/or implementing a full EMS similar to the ISO 14001 standard.

The first and most important tool the division offers is the Sustainable Office Toolkit.  Here you will find resources to accomplish your environmental goals.
